60 On Deck

60 On Deck

Sailing the Oceanis 60 is, quite simply, sublime. Perfectly balanced … you can sail this 60-footer around the world single handedly, or with a crew. The decks are spacious and uncluttered thanks to the mainsail arch and the fact there is almost 17 feet of beam carried well aft to make use of the space.

The Oceanis 60 boasts the largest, most innovative cockpit of this generation. You can seat at least 14 people comfortably in the port and starboard helm seats.

A mounted bimini and insert give the whole cockpit full protection from the elements. The attractive hull line gives you an optimised, powerful sailing performance. The stemhead gracefully extends the bow of this yacht, which cuts through the waves with style and distinction.

And like its younger siblings, the Beneteau 60 has a magnificent, award-winning electronic rear deck with swim platform, extending the outdoor living space. The Beneteau Oceanis 60 gives a whole new meaning to the word grandeur.

Going down below is a breeze thanks to large, wide steps with leather-bound handrails. And inside you’ll find a spacious area bathed in abundant natural light coming from well designed sunroofs, hatches, windows and portholes.

The Oceanis 60 saloon is immense. The U-shaped galley to port has counter space and storage room galore, along with top of the line fittings including two fridges.

Seat eight of your closest family, friends or crew-mates on the U-shaped dinette in comfort!

With a choice of two intelligent, luxurious interior layouts of three and four cabins, the Oceanis 60 can easily accommodate eight people, excluding crew. The forward master cabin has plenty of beam and space … meaning you can climb into bed easily from both sides and enjoy stargazing through the large hull ports.

The team at Beneteau have left nothing undone in their pursuit to build the perfect vessel. The Oceanis 60 is decked out in Alpi wood, which is both luxurious and practical, and designed to last in the salty marine environment.

The new flagship of Beneteau’s ever-expanding range, the Oceanis 60 is a development of the Oceanis 58.

She sports an aft deck and a tender garage with an electric fold-down transom and swim platform to enclose it. Beyond that, the Oceanis 60 is simply a spectacular boat, well suited to passage making, a boisterous daysail or lounging about on the hook on a sunny day.

The new 60-foot flagship from Beneteau offers a huge amount of living space in a cruising sloop that will eat up the miles.

The morning we set off, the trade winds were blowing a steady 10 to 12 knots and white puffy clouds were trundling in from the Bahamas. It was a perfect morning to go sailing and to put the brand new Beneteau 60 through her paces.

The new Beneteau Oceanis 60 builds on the lines and concepts that have proven to be so successful in the rest of the nine-boat Oceanis fleet which starts at 31′ (9.45 m). But there is nothing quite like a 60′ (18.29 m) vessel with a navy blue hull, a 2,000 sq. ft. (190 sq. m) sail plan, and a trunk cabin that seems to go on forever, to stir the heart of any sailor.

Because of her 16’4″ (4.99 m) beam she has the room below normally found on a powerboat of her size, but with the comfort of an ocean-going sailboat. She has two layout plans available and an innovative cockpit.

The Beneteau Oceanis 60 is a proven hull that comes with features that should attract both coastal and blue-water sailors.

There is simply no arguing the fact that longer waterlines mean faster cruising miles, so, when considering your big trip, the Beneteau Oceanis 60 is a strong contender.

The proven Berret Racoupeau hull is now approaching the 100 mark for numbers sold and Beneteau sensibly didn’t try to fix something that wasn’t broken; it simply improved on it, as I found out when sailing it off Majorca.
