With over 19 models on display, the Beneteau exhibit was a standout for the week’s 50,000 plus visitors. MICAH’S ROUND UP

MICAH’S ROUND UP

“What a pleasure is was to be back at Cannes Yachting Festival this year. In my opinion, it is without a doubt the most enjoyable boat show in the world. Let’s start with the location – how can you complain about being in Cannes? It’s not world famous for nothing! The weather, 25-30 degrees and mostly blue skies. The water (yes, I snuck in for a few swims) – 25 degrees. The range of yachts to view was incredible. It just doesn’t get much better.

We were there to meet with the heads of Beneteau and their designers to discuss the very successful financial year just passed, hear the vision for the year ahead, review strategies and of course view the best range of Beneteau Yachts and Power Boats we’ve ever seen on display.

The first big announcement is that the Beneteau First is back.

Beneteau have launched a new First 14, 18, 24 and 27, aimed at bringing simple, fun, exciting sailing back to our owners and the world of yachting.

The 18 and 24 were on display for the first time at Cannes. We’re very excited about these models.

Our leading Oceanis range was on display, almost in its entirety – from the Oceanis 35.1 to the magnificent Oceanis Yacht 62.

The NEW Oceanis 46.1 was enjoying its European launch and celebrating selling out a full year of production before the show even started. The Oceanis continues to innovate and lead the world of production cruising yachts.

From Beneteau Power, the very popular Gran Turismos were there in full and with the GT 40, 46 and 50 on display showing new 2019 decor and enhancements. The Monte Carlo 5 and 6 were on show in new ivory white and grey trim. The Antares 36 bridged the gap between the sports cruisers and the Swift Trawler 35, 44 and of course the world premiere of brand NEW Swift Trawler 47 was a highlight.

The NEW Swift Trawler 47 is the latest in design and technology sitting in between Beneteau’s highly successful Swift Trawler 44 and 50. It’s a big boat, but easy to use, with plenty of ergonomic space, a massive fly bridge with a powerful fixed hard top bimini, lowering transom, new Beneteau ship control technology and three comfortable cabins for enjoying with guests. The 47 is comfortable whether at 10 knots, 18 or 24 when you want get places quickly. This new model also celebrates a full year of production sold prior to launch – however, we have one slot available for the Asia Pacific.

Beneteau put on nightly drinks on the rooftop terrace of their stand with piano, bands, DJs and drinks flowing. We enjoyed this fantastic view over the Beneteau stand and full boatshow with owners and all the team from Beneteau design, sales, after sales and strategy along with other Beneteau agents from around the globe. The past twelve months have been fantastic and now, with a great range of new and existing boats out, the year ahead for Beneteau and Flagstaff Marine looks even brighter.

Next year guarantees more surprises from the house of Beneteau. We’d love you to join us in Cannes for 2019.”
