Graham Raspass

Having dreamed about sailing his whole life …

…in 2003 Graham decided it was finally time to tick the dream off his bucket list.

“From the moment I started sailing I was hooked. I quickly got myself a little East Coast 31 and spent all my spare time on Pittwater.”

Graham fell so hard for sailing he turned his back on a successful corporate career, determined to combine his love of sailing with business.

In 2009 he launched SailTime, a membership alternative to boat share syndicates. Graham selected Beneteau for the SailTime fleet.

The popularity of the Beneteau yachts and superb client experience have helped SailTime see significant growth since inception.

“I chose Beneteau because I knew they were the best in the market, and I wanted our members to have the best possible on-water experience. I ended up liking the brand so much… I bought the company with distribution rights in Australia.”

As Graham’s passion for boats grew, he became a keen racer. He enjoys regular twilights and longer races like the Sydney to Hobart and Lord Howe.

“My favourite regatta is Hamilton Island race week. It’s a wonderful week in a superb location. I love that many Flagstaff owners make the trip north for winter … it’s great to see our clients out on the water living the dream.”

Micah Lane

Micah Lane

Micah started racing boats at the tender age of eight and quickly became a fixture on the racing circuit.

After winning many races including the Sabot, International 420 and 18ft skiff National Championships and representing Australia at international regattas, Micah retired from the professional racing circuit. It wasn’t long before he succumbed to the siren call of the water and returned to the industry to sell yachts and help others follow his passion.

Micah became so devoted to helping others purchase quality boats that in 2009 he acquired the Beneteau dealership on Sydney Harbour. He is out on the water daily, helping Beneteau Owners discover the joy of sailing.

I have been selling yachts since 2003 and absolutely love what I do. My favourite part is getting to know clients, helping them find their first boat, teaching them how to get the very best from their new yacht … and sharing a beer together after a day on the water.

I chose the Beneteau brand because I love the design and architecture. The forward thinking modern design is really exciting to me. I know our owners will have a sublime on-water experience and that is what fires me up every day.”

Boats have always been central to Mike’s life. Growing up, family holidays were always regattas and sailing expeditions.

He started competing at the tender age of five and continues to race today, most recently winning (for the third time) the JJ Giltinan Trophy.

Mike got to know Micah when they were teenagers and the pair began a lifelong friendship that saw Mike join Flagstaff back in 2011.

“I love working with Beneteau boats; they are the best production boats in the market. I get a real buzz from taking people who are new to sailing out and showing them what these boats are capable of.”

Mike takes joy from working with first timers and his enthusiasm for sailing is infectious. “My door is always open; if you have a question about sailing I am here to answer it.”

Greg Larkings

Greg Larkings

Greg purchased his first Beneteau years ago and immediately fell in love with these easy to sail yachts.

After selling his powerboat dealership, Greg was looking for an exciting new challenge focusing on his passion … sailing.

He joined Flagstaff and hasn’t looked back. When meeting with clients, he loves nothing more than to help them discover their perfect yacht so they can fall in love too.

“I enjoy connecting clients with the pure pleasure of boating. I am really interested in people and listen closely to learn about their boating passions and dreams. My mission is to make sure Flagstaff owners enjoy quality time on a boat they love.”

Greg is currently the President of the NSW 49ers Association. He is well known for his own participation in the Sydney summer regattas and his family is actively involved in the racing community.

Commissioning and Technical Support

From AFL to surfing, Shane has always been big on sports.

He found boating later in life and made up for lost time competing in races such as the Sydney to Hobart.

Shane works with clients throughout their entire journey with their boat.

This includes overseeing commissioning and managing the provisioning of add-ons and modifications.

“I have helped with many modifications over the years. For example, one was for a client with serious health conditions. They needed medical equipment on board with backup systems and we made that happen. I guess at the end of the day your boat is where you spend your leisure time, and I am here to help make it whatever you want.

Some owners decide they really want to sail round the Whitsundays. So we help with passage planning and provisioning of safety equipment or recommend a skipper so they can learn along the way. We also help optimise boats for racing. Every day brings something new …”
